Hi Debi, I think I am slip stitching in the wrong place to end my square. No matter what I do, you can always tell where I stopped. I've been getting better thru the weeks, I believe another problem is making my stitches the same size throughout (e.g. final round of doubles match the original ch 3). I tend to get larger and larger as I go around. :( I am hoping with practice I can turn this around, otherwise a blanket would be uneven.
Debi, Fantastic News! I decided to work on a new granny to post up for you, and I worked a new pattern. I actually flipped the square over at the finish, to make the final tie off in the back. When I flipped the square back over, it looked perfect!! I have no idea if this was the right thing or not, but it surely works!! I am going to work on a different pattern that requires a DC in every stitch for the outter round. It was this pattern that I struggled so much with the finishing. I will let you know how it goes.
Hi Danielle - I might be able to help. What problem are you having with the grannies?

Can you post a picture of one of your grannies so I can take a look at the joining?
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right - practice will help with your tension. :)
